RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct leadership/supervision for 30+ protectors (field based crews)
  • Support the Area Manager and General Manager in managing and executing company initiatives
  • Collaborate daily with all Area Staff, with a goal of Continuous Improvement in all functional areas of the business
  • Maintain Field (80%) and Office (20%) Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety, quality, training, employee engagement, and retention standards are met
  • Protect the company’s team members, customers, and assets against losses, injuries, and accidents through enforcement of safe work practices

  • Develop relationships with new and existing customers to achieve goals and new business opportunities
  • Perform job site and vehicle inspections, attend pre-bid meetings, meet with clients, and work in the field with the team as needed

Account Manager

The Account Manager will secure profitable business for their branch(es) and the company by selling the company’s portfolio of services, rentals, and products to potential and existing energy, broadband, transportation, and construction customers with who they develop and maintain effective customer/vendor relationships. The Account Manager is expected to meet or exceed sales/margin targets by using proper planning, effective sales presentations, a thorough understanding of industry trends and our competitors’ positions in the market, and continuous follow-up before and after the sale. The Account Manager will also conduct studies of their assigned territory, identify new potential customers and their needs, emphasize the advantage of engaging with our company, and implement strategies to attract and retain customers through effective collaboration with Operations and other key departments. This position is an active hands-on role requiring routine weekly travel, primarily within an assigned sales territory.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for attending and conducting weekly sales and cold call appointments with key decision makers on potential and existing accounts including, but not limited to, visiting the customer’s facility and/or job site, video and phone calls, email, etc.
  • Build and maintain a solid and qualified pipeline, establishing professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer contacts at all levels in relevant departments such as purchasing, engineering, project management, quality assurance, senior leadership, etc.
  • Proactively identify and secure opportunities to help customers solve problems, quote on customer requirements, assist in providing job estimates, provide technical assistance as needed, and keep customers up to date on new developments
  • Maintain involvement in execution of customer’s project/order to ensure that all services and products are meet or exceed the contracted expectations and conditions by consistently collaborating with Operations, Billing, and other key departments
  • Effectively convey the Company’s focus on safety to employees and customers, and promote Statewide Traffic Safety’s network of companies ability and commitment to deliver safe, high-quality, and on-time services
  • Network as key point of contact for sales within assigned territory, identifying and executing on opportunities to increase sales by participating in various events, including but not limited to trade shows, association meetings and conferences, industry events, etc.
  •  Track and regularly provide reports on all activity, target achievement, sales forecasts, lost business, orders and quotes, problems and recommended solutions for customer/vendor relationship or project concerns, changes in assigned territory or industry trends that may affect the Company, etc.

Estimator/Planner

The Estimator at AWP Safety will build quality relationships to secure profitable business partners to support the business unit. Responsibilities include reviewing and clarification of proposals, negotiating projects, completing estimates including bid documents, determining the project’s scope, and evaluating special conditions affecting the proposal. This role will collaborate with the Operations Department to ensure the accuracy of quotes as well as prospecting for business opportunities.

  • Builds estimates for clients through direct requests from our customers, CSR’s, planners, or anyone involved with our daily operations that requests an estimate.
  • Produce estimates, track, and manage the estimates in SharePoint, TCR and/or estimating spreadsheet.
  • Track all estimates with our clients to determine the close ratio of completed estimates.
  • Ensure that estimates are being completed in compliance with local, state, and Federal MUTCD requirements and allowed set-up approvals.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the permitting processes and costs.
  • Continual process improvement, tracking, production, and billing of estimates to support the sales efforts for AWP safety.
  • Collaborate with management on strategic estimating and growth initiatives for the estimating department.
  • Analyze all available information to compile into a proposal estimate.
  • Attending external pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work.
  • Determine key variables for cost, labor, equipment, and other estimates.
  • Complete estimates including bid documents, determining the project’s scope, deration of the project, phasing and evaluating special conditions affecting the proposal (including site conditions, access, personnel, labor hours, mobilization and equipment needs)
  • Review and clarify proposals and negotiate projects.
  • Prepare estimates based on time, labor requirements, equipment costs, and specifications.

  • Obtain and track offers and quotes from subcontractors or vendors.
  • Prepare preliminary schedules for all successfully awarded projects.
