  • Develop relationships with internal and external customers to achieve goals and new business opportunities 
  • Perform field and vehicle inspections, attend pre-bid meetings, meet with clients and work in the field with the team as needed
  • Ensure customer service issues are addressed promptly and efficiently while providing the highest level of customer service 
  • Assist in preparing daily schedules
  • Monitor daily employee issues including payroll, timekeeping, benefits, time off requests, customer issues, and training requirements
  • Facilitate teambuilding efforts and regular communications with team members

EHS Manager- Orlando

This EHS Manager is responsible to provide day to day EHS support to the facility locations and operating teams within the designated region.  Support includes coaching, teaching, and training field personnel on safe operating behaviors and the design, development, and implementation of safety and risk control programs.  Functions as a subject matter expert and consultant to help internal clients build sustainable loss improvement processes within their operating organizations that they will own and operate.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide daily and continuous safety support to their designated region.
  • Conduct compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support AWP Safety – EHS Management.
  • Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs to the field level, facility leadership level, and regional leadership to ensure a common and effective approach.
  • Maintain, audit, and update as needed AWP Safety – SOPs for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in the day-to-day training.
  • Coach, train, guide, and mentor the regional employees through the AWP Safety Management System.
  • Review accidents/incidents which occur in the area of responsibility and conduct field audits, reporting and managing the correction actions.
  • Participate in and support detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of relevant EHS training.
  • Ability to work with employees and leadership to achieve cultural change in the face of potential resistance.
  • Travel to branch locations and jobsites as required and perform any additional duties as needed.

Field Specific Responsibilities

  • Visit and walk the jobsites on a regular basis to establish EHS presence and provide support- 80% Travel within designated region.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly EHS Meetings/Trainings and schedule as needed.
  • Perform field safety observations during each visit.
  • Conduct critical behavior-based safety observations as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Business Unit EHS Director.
  • Work with the branch leadership and field teams to ensure work practices are understood and followed.
  • Conduct EHS audits and assessments of on-going operations to measure compliance with regulatory requirements and conformance to AWP Safety company policies and procedures.
  • Serves as the single point of contact for Region and Branch leadership in area of responsibility.

Overview:

The Business Unit EHS Director provides leadership within the West Business Unit locations and its functional framework, while partnering with The AWP Safety Leaders to establish vision and strategy and advance a culture of EHS throughout these locations.  This individual will support planning and implementation of various programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and incident free work environment for every team member.  The role will also provide technical and compliance expertise, support the day-to-day business unit operations of health and safety, and ensure proper reporting practices of all injuries, health and safety concerns, environmental regulatory compliance, audit/inspection corrective actions, safety matters, and motor vehicle collisions.  The Business Unit EHS Director will work directly with AWP Safety Company Leaders from various lines of business, as well as the Corporate VP of Safety, EHS and Risk Teams, to ensure the best possible outcomes are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The development of health and safety programs and standards at an Enterprise and Business Unit level and is accountable for achieving year-over-year reductions in the frequency and severity of occupational injuries, illness, incident, and motor vehicle collisions.
  • Providing strategic vision, leadership, and operational execution of environmental, health, and safety performance consistent with AWP Safety expectations.
  • Leads safety programs including, but not limited to ergonomics, behavior-based safety, incident reduction, worksite analysis, hazard prevention and control, and employee engagement.
  • Supports the development and implementation of AWP Safety – EHS Directives – internal EHS Management System and performance.
  • Serves as an EHS subject matter expert and coaches others within the business unit operations.
  • Researches, evaluates, and recommends changes to improve the EHS performance.
  • Provides support to the Business Unit during regulatory inquiries, enforcement proceedings, and litigation.

Shop Foreman

The primary objective of the Shop Foreman is to service and maintain the company equipment, vehicles and to make sure we have the appropriate inventory to take care of our customer’s needs.  They will also take care of any customer that is dropping off or picking up equipment at the branch by providing industries best customer service.  Is responsible for ensuring the equipment is serviced by following manufacturers specifications.  All equipment must be in working order and be to of the company’s highest standards before leaving the branch.  They are responsible for the day to day operations of the shop and yard.  From time to time they will also help with deliveries and pickups.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all PPE (personal protection equipment) requirements in the shop, and yard.
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained to the manufacturer recommendations.
  • Ensure that all decals and warning labels on all equipment are clearly legible.
  • Make sure we have enough equipment for rent at all times.  This should be done daily.  Examples: Sandbags, all barricades, vertical panels, sign plates, signs, stands, stickers, sheeting, lights, drums, arrow boards, message boards, PTS boards, etc…
  • You will be responsible for making sure all arrow boards, message boards, PTS boards, etc.. are serviced when returned at all times.  In addition recording what was done on maintenance logs.
  • Make sure all equipment is serviced and maintained daily.  Wash, repair, organize, etc..
  • Responsible to make sure the yard is organized daily.
  • Report to the Manager all inventories that we need to order to make sure we have enough. 
  • Responsible for filling out the proper paperwork with a customer drops off or picks up equipment.
  • Responsible for filling out and maintaining the proper paperwork/reports daily.
  • Report to Manager every morning to see what projects take priority.
  • You are in charge of the shop, please delegate the jobs to the people that are working in the shop.   Make sure everyone in the shop stays busy at all times.
  • You are responsible for keeping the yard and shop clean at all times.  House keeping is a must every day.
  • Make sure all rental equipment is clean and put in the proper place.
  • Help drivers load and unload, if needed.
  • Forklift will only be used for loading and unloading.  Fill out a service report daily when using the forklift.
  • Load and unload ALL customers in a friendly and timely manner (ASAP).  It is your responsibility to check outside for customers at all times.
  • Help in all departments as needed.
  • Turn in all paperwork to Dispatcher at the end of every day.
  • Make sure your branch radio is always on in the yard so dispatch can contact you for your assistance.
  • Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures.
