AWP Safety Community Giving: Outdoor Buddies

Team AWP, January 16, 2024

The AWP Safety Community Giving Program supports charitable programs nominated by our team members. The program recently awarded funding to Outdoor Buddies, a nonprofit volunteer-based organization based in Colorado that provides outdoor experiences for the mobility impaired. Outdoor Buddies collaborates with experienced volunteers to provide a safe environment for outdoor experiences, allowing those that may otherwise not be able, to enjoy the natural beauty of Colorado.

Greeley, CO Estimator Anthony Uhl nominated Outdoor Buddies, which was founded by his grandfather. “I was honored to deliver funding to Outdoor Buddies on behalf of AWP Safety,” said Anthony. “I am glad we could help contribute to what my grandfather started.”

Outdoor Buddies was founded in 1984 to address a need for recreational therapy opportunities for rehabilitation patients. Over time, the organization has expanded its programs and has added a special focus on serving veterans and first responders. In addition to providing its services for program participants, Outdoor Buddies also ensures that wildlife and the environment are protected and preserved for the benefit of all people.

AWP Safety team members are driven to strengthen our local communities through charitable giving, volunteering, and serving as community leaders. You can learn more about our Community Giving program, and AWP team members can nominate organizations to be considered for funding on our Community Giving page.
