In the News, April 20, 2023

As a leader in traffic control, dedicated to safety, AWP Safety is proud to have our very own Mark Ludwig sourced as a contributing author for Roads & Bridges magazine. The magazine provides engineers, contractors and government officials with information regarding the latest news and advancements in the road and bridge industry, and relevant information to improve their jobsites.

Mark Ludwig is AWP Safety’s VP of Safety, and is sharing his valuable expertise with the industry to help make more workzones safer. Traffic control services are essential to any road or bridge renovation project, and with an influx of contracts created as a result of the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), demand for these services is almost certain to be at an all-time high going forward.

For anyone involved in safety decision-making regarding road and bridge work, his articles provide helpful guidance.

Most recently, Roads & Bridges has featured two articles authored by Mark:

  • Safety Takes Training  – Traffic control plans need to prioritize steps that support consistent alertness. This article takes a brief look at training programs with a proven track record for making safety top priority.
  • Reducing Risk – In this article,  Mark shares important elements to address when planning for comprehensive traffic control.

As Mark says, “Properly designed work zones utilizing the latest traffic control technologies are essential. The same can be said for special training that equips construction crews with the knowledge and personal duty to practice safety each day.”
