AWP Safety Community Giving Program Supports Local Communities

Team AWP, December 10, 2025

For 40+ years, AWP Safety and its team members across North America have collaborated with local communities to give back, and ensure local residents have opportunities to thrive. Through its Community Giving Program, AWP Safety supports charitable organizations and initiatives that improve safety, quality of life, equity and self-sufficiency in communities where our team members live and work.

In just 3 years, AWP Safety’s Community giving program has donated over $61K to local organizations throughout our serviced communities – and we still have more work to do!

This year, AWP Safety has contributed over $31K to support 23 charitable organizations. Selected organizations support important causes in communities we serve across the U.S. and Canada.

AWP Safety’s Community Giving Program relies on the input of company team members to prioritize giving. Team members are encouraged to nominate non-profits that are doing work aligned with the most urgent needs of their local communities.

Putting our Charitable Giving to Work – 2025 Highlights

Kerr County Flood Relief from AWP SafetyAfter this year’s devastating Texas floods, Nathan Adam (Area Manager), Amy Rector (Community Foundation Rep), Chris Bernard (Director of HR), and Dominque Ortiz (Field Supervisor) presented a check to the Kerr County Flood Relief fund, an organization committed to helping local families rebuild and recover. Chris Bernard of the Central BU team had nominated the Kerr County Flood Relief fund for AWP Safety’s Community Giving program. In addition to the Central BU team increasing its presence and deploying operational assets to aid in local efforts, the Community Giving program’s donation allowed the team to also contribute to ongoing restoration support.

In Baltimore, Maryland, Ronneshia Sheriff (Senior Field Supervisor), championed our donation to the Powell Recovery Center. The center provides a safe, accessible and compassionate environment for individuals seeking treatment for addiction and mental health issues. The facility offers robust resources, and is able to make an impact –  serving up to 250 Baltimore-area clients a day.

Another recipient of this year’s AWP Safety Community Giving program was The Unumb Place in Lexington, South Carolina. The Unumb Place is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality, therapeutic services to people with autism spectrum disorder across their lifespan. Our donation will support the development of a new facility dedicated to caring for adults, including recreational equipment for its residents.  Dwayne Brown (Sr. VP of Procurement) of our Corporate office, lives in South Carolina and nominated the organization to support local South Carolina communities.

Fredricksburg Regional Food Bank - AWP Safety Community GivingAWP Safety’s Community Giving Program also awarded a donation to the Fredericksburg Community Regional Food Bank. The organization is committed to reducing hunger in the Central Rappahannock River Region of Virginia and works to provide nutritious food to over 51,000 people. The organization was nominated by field administrator, Melvina Wormley.

“It is important to me that no child or family go without food,” said Melvina. “When in a crisis, a family shouldn’t have to pick between paying a bill and purchasing food for their family.”

Thank you to all of our AWP Safety team members who championed organizations for consideration this year. AWP Safety looks forward to continuing to support  people, businesses and organizations in improving the communities we serve.
