AWP and The Marine Corps Marathon Team Up Again

Traffic Control Projects, November 5, 2015

AWP is proud to be a part of the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) and the Marine Corps Marathon Event Series for the third year in a row.

AWP and MCM began their partnership in 2013, and since then, AWP has been the go-to traffic control provider for the 10,000 participant race series as well as the Marine Corps Marathon that takes place every October in the nation’s capital and ranks as one of the largest marathons in the world.

This year, the MCM was held on Sunday, October 25, in Washington D.C. and Arlington, VA. AWP developed the traffic control plans, and provided all the equipment and traffic control services necessary to

protect the 30,000 participants, 100,000 spectators and the hundreds of marines and volunteers that were there to manage the event.

Throughout the year, AWP has also supplied traffic equipment, services, and expertise to the other MCM-organized events including the Historic Half Marathon, that occurred in May 2015 in Fredericksburg, VA. AWP’s Manassas team was honored with a plaque for outstanding support from the Marine Corps Marathon for AWP’s contribution to their organization.

AWP looks forward to many more years of continued partnership with the Marine Corps Marathon, and being a part of the great work that they do!
